Kirishima Onsenkyo, which springs up from the bosom of Mt. Kirishima, the legend of the Advent of the Heavenly Son, consists of nine hot springs, all located between 600 and 850 meters above sea level. Nearby are the Maruo Nature Trail, which has the oldest rock bath in Kirishima, and tourist attractions such as Maruo Falls, where hot springs flow, and Maruo Falls, which has many inns and hotels, making it a base for Kirishima tourism.
