Crater Warning (Eruption Alert Level 2, Crater Area Regulations) Announced
(October 17, Reiwa 7 at 11:00 a.m.)
Today, at 11 a.m., the Japan Meteorological Observatory announced that Mt. Shinnen was lowered from eruption warning level 3 (mountain entry restrictions) to 2 (crater area restrictions).
Since there is a possibility of a small eruption in the future, please be wary of large cinders within a range of approximately 2 km from the crater.
The warning area according to Article 63 of the Basic Act on Disaster Countermeasures continues to be approximately 2 km from the Mt. Shinen crater.

In the event of a disaster or imminent occurrence, the mayor of a municipality may restrict or prohibit entry into the area or order the eviction of the mayor when necessary to prevent danger to human life or body. There are penalties for violations.
